Resolution Environmental Services

EnvironmentalConsulting

RES provides senior environmental consulting for complex contaminated sites, investigations, remediation planning, redevelopment, regulatory matters, technical disputes, litigation, and projects requiring an experienced independent assessment.

The work begins with understanding the problem, the available information, the decision to be made, and the practical constraints affecting the project.

Experience for problems that do not have standard answers.

Contaminated Sites & Investigation Strategy

RES evaluates contaminant sources, the nature and extent of contamination, migration and exposure pathways, regulatory implications, and significance to current or proposed use.

Investigation begins by defining the questions that need answers; those questions determine where to sample, which media to investigate, what to analyze, and how the results will affect the project. This is particularly important where substantial data already exist but the client still needs a definitive answer.

Remediation, Mitigation & Redevelopment

RES evaluates remediation and mitigation approaches for contaminated soil, groundwater, soil gas, and vapor intrusion.

On redevelopment projects, environmental requirements can affect demolition, grading, foundations, utilities, construction sequencing, worker protection, soil management, financing, regulatory approval, and occupancy. RES integrates these considerations into the project strategy and works with regulators to keep requirements technically appropriate, costs reasonable, and critical schedules moving.

Technical Review, Regulatory Strategy & Second Opinions

RES reviews reports, laboratory data, regulatory correspondence, remediation records, and consultant recommendations to identify the important facts, unresolved questions, material uncertainties, and practical implications, then communicates them in terms the client can readily understand.

This is particularly useful when a project has stalled, costs are escalating, consultants disagree, regulatory concerns remain unresolved, or a second opinion is needed before committing additional resources.

Litigation & Expert Support

RES provides technical assistance in disputes and litigation involving contamination, historical operations, investigations, remediation, environmental due diligence, grant programs, and professional practice.

Support may include technical review, evaluation of consultant work, development of opinions, assistance to counsel, and explanation of complex environmental information. RES has also helped clients pursue state and local grant programs addressing petroleum storage tank and dry-cleaning solvent contamination.

Environmental Project Management & Senior Advisory Support

RES provides senior project management and advisory support for projects involving consultants, laboratories, contractors, regulators, engineers, developers, lenders, attorneys, and other participants.

RES also works with consulting and engineering firms, developers, municipalities, and multidisciplinary teams that need specialized senior environmental expertise for a particular assignment.

Other areas of practice

Environmental projects often begin with a question.

An initial conversation can help identify the issues, determine what information is already available, and establish the most useful next step.
